Thank you for giving me this chance to make a speech here. I would like to share with you the ideas and methods our company owns.

 In the past 100 years, Goodyear can’t be separate from innovation. At present, the most rapid automobile use the tires of our company. We are also committed in making environmental-friendly tire. Let me tell you how our company transferred from a manufacturing enterprise to a production-oriented company.

At present Chin’s automobile market is not very large, growing at a annual rate of 20% in five consecutive years. We estimated the industry will develop at this rate in the next 5 to 10 years. We believe that China’s automobile industry will surpass that of the U.S. in 30 years and become the world’s biggest.

I noticed that in China’s market, the quality of most tires is not very good. There are two factors: one is consumers don’t have a strong sense of road safety; another is the after-sale service is not standardized, which caused much traffic accident.

Goodyear came to China in 1994 when few people noticed the outlook of the market. We determined to transfer our headquarters in Shanghai which will serve as a base for resource and supply. We don’t have a big investment in China now. We are looking for opportunities as China will be the biggest market in the future.

We have three cores

First is we introduce the most advanced technology and make tires most suited to the Chinese market.

Second is the global purchase. The amount is 10 billion USD. This can’t match the rapid development of China’s market.

Third is a sales network. We will build a more standardized network in China.

We have provided a lot of training courses. We hope this will bring new ideas into China’s market. At present we have 600 outlets. We hope the number will be 3000 in 2010. We hope every town and village will enjoy such service. We will conduct cooperation with local government.
