Your Excellency Mr. Dominique de Villepin, Former Prime Minister of France,

Respectable Mr. Huang Xiaoxiang, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province,

Respectable Mr. Ge Honglin, Mayor of Chengdu City,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Firstly, I'd like to thank all of the guests for your wonderful speeches, which add to our courage and wisdom to fight against the global financial crisis.

My special thanks go to Your Excellency Mr. Dominique de Villepin, Former Prime Minister of France. Your excellent speech fully exemplifies the wisdom and charisma of a great leader. We're greatly moved by your presence here in China at a time when Sino-French relationship is very sensitive. We are convinced that everything you have done will strongly bolster the friendly relationship between our two countries. Thank you.

On behalf of the APCEO, I'd like to avail myself of this opportunity to extend our gratitude again to the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the People's Government of Chengdu for your full support, to guests from home and abroad for your enthusiasm and participation, and to the domestic and foreign media for your attention to and reports on this summit.

The International Cooperation Summit for CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors is committed to building active and long-term communication and cooperation mechanisms between Chinese governments at provincial and municipal levels and famous companies around the world. The annual International Cooperation Summit for CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors has been held four times since 2005, and yielded fruitful results. Here, we are witnessing more and more successful achievements of international cooperation, and we are attracting more and more global attention.

Today, we gather here in Chengdu and make this grand event for international economic cooperation a success again. I believe this success belongs to all the participants.

Currently, the international economic situation is characterized by complexity, severity and uncertainties. We hope that this Summit could serve as an important platform to help us realize the goal of "Asia-Pacific cooperation and global benefit". We also hope that this Summit could make contributions to the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas in Sichuan Province.

We will hold a round-table meeting this afternoon.

We are looking forward to heated discussion and effective cooperation and interaction.
